We hung a couple of bags of book on it for a couple of hours then mounted the TV. I am still playing with the rotation and lock out controls and have found that they do take some practice to master. I am happy with how sturdy the mount is and it make the tv and room look amazing. This is actually the same model they sell at Best Buy for about $260 and I paid less than half of that on Amazon. This was very easy to install and it's extremely sturdy. The range of motion is awesome and tilt feature is perfect too. I would recommend this mount to anyone! When I saw the same product on Amazon for $135 (including shipping), I jumped on it. Received it in 6 days, which was quicker than what was advertised on Amazon. It installed very easily with no problems in about an hour. I installed it in a bedroom and mounted a 42" Panasonic. When the grandkids are visiting, we rotate and tilt it so they can play Wii. When it's time to watch a video in bed, we rotate it for ideal viewing angle. PERFECT! Ultra Slim LED TV Wall Mount (Electronics) Seems to hold up. Especially for the price. However, if you have a Samsung 55 D8000 series LED, the screws provided either too long or too short. I went to a local hardware store and bought 4 M8-1.25x25 screws and they work perfectly. In the case of my set, i used the shorter, 14" cable, not the longer cable the instructions are based on. I picked a center point, ~5.5" below where i want the top of the tv bezel, and drilled pilot holes ~5" to either side of that point to install the anchors. Works great. This review is from: Mount-It! Ultra Slim LED TV Wall Mount (Electronics) I got this mount to hang my Samsung PN58C7000 which is a 58" and weighs about 75 pounds with a 600x400 VESA pattern. The product was of good quality and made of sturdy resin based plastic, machined aluminum, and braided steel cable. I installed this on a brick wall so I used masonry sleeve anchors instead of the included screws to attach it to the wall. Point of fact: I wouldn't recommend installing ANY WALL MOUNT with the included screws in drywall. Drill one into a stud & go get some toggle bolts for the "non-stud" side if 2 studs aren't available. Again- I have installed quite a few TVs and have never seen one that came with wall mount screws that I'd trust... $5 in home depot may save your $1,500 TV. So... After drilling my anchors into the brick, installation took about 5 minutes. Attaching the Cables to the TV went easily thanks to the two kickstands. The whole affair is very stable and and the 'picture frame' effect is just what I was looking for. The TV... I realize it is a couple inches larger than specs say, but this tv is also below weight, so you decide. Biggest problem was with the bracket that mounts to the wall. It is only about 18" wide. The issue is when it comes to centering on the wall. On our wall, in order to mount this bracket on two studs, the bracket has to be about 4" off center. Since I have such a wide tv, that means that the VESA mount is at the limit on the bracket, and thus you do not have any room to move the tv from side to side on the mount. Further, if the tv is off center on this bracket, it tends to make the tv a bit off balance. Again, the tv we are using is much below the recommended weight, so seems like that shouldn't happen. I ended up mounting a 3/4 inch plywood board to wall, covering 3 studs, and then mounting this bracket to that board. The tv hides the board, so not really an issue, and it is painted to... Hold my 40" Proscan LCD nicely (40 something pound). It is not super heavy duty but strong enough for new larger LCD TVs (you might want a heavy duty hanger for larger heavy plasma TVs) 1. You fist assemble the vertical bars then secure it to the wall. 2, You then attach the back plate and TV holding bar to your TV (it even comes with spacer and many many screws for different type of VESA standard mount, nice!) 3. You then hang your TV to the mount (using the hooks on the top of the TV plate) 4. Slide your TV left or right to position you want 5. Adjust the tile angle with the built-in screw with handle (nice feature) 6. Screw down the 2 secure screws at the bottom of the mount so the TV will not accidentally pop-out. 7. Enjoy your TV. This is really a good deal (Thirty something with shipping, very good deal). BTW, the bubble level come in the mount is not mount properly... The installation is quick and easy, and this thing will hold some weight! In order to set/adjust the tilt you will need to read the other reviews. They mention ways of sticking screws in the slot to stop the TV from dipping too far down. This is an easy fix. The only difference between the $$300 mount at the store and this one is you will need to do this for heavier TVs. Save your money... Buy this.
