Can't hold them up.,  Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: SIIG Tilt/swivel/rotate/Extend Desk Mount for 13 to 27 Inches Dual Monitor, Black (CE-MT0Q11-S1) (Office Product) I purchased the dual monitor stand after reading the Amazon reviews about how strong and sturdy the mount was build. While 99% of the mount is built well, the part that fails is the vertical tilt which controls the up/down movement. I have two Asus VW266H 25.5" LCD monitors that weigh 17.4 pounds each. This size is within the design limits both in size and weight. However, the the tilt design includes smooth brass washers with no grip that allows the hinge to swing down no matter how hard I torque the bolt. The only way I was able to get the tilt to stay in place was to superglue the washer in place so one of the sides would be fixed. In my opinion, this should be a lock washer to add some friction between the arm and the part that attaches to the monitor. Easy to put together. Very difficult to adjust. If the monitor weighs more than 7lbs it won't stay vertical. Samsung 23" LCD monitor requires I have it touching my other monitor to keep it vertical. I tightened the nuts to the point where the allen key started stripping and it's still not tight enough.If one monitor is heavier than the other, the heavy monitor will sag by an inch or more. The sag is annoying if you want to line them up. I have a 23" and a 22" monitor, the spread on the arms is wide. Side by side, I don't think you could have a pair of 24" monitors on this and still be able to adjust them much unless they were in portrait. Cable routing is bad. A pair of clips on each arm and then down thru the center from the top. The mount is partially padded, the rings on the bottom are bare metal and will dig into a wooden desk if you tighten it. I attached it to the side of the table. i didn't use included clamp, just bolt it to the side of my wooden desk. This thing is heavy and requires good wood or other strong material to support its weight. The only concern is that i have two different monitors by different brands and they do not align horizontally. Half an inch difference it's no big deal. When i fully assembled the stand, i realized that it takes too much space of my desk. it also extended the monitor way further than i originally anticipated. So, in the effort to save some space, i took out the shortest arm link that connects the monitor to the pole. As the result, the product fits perfectly on my desk. it looks as if it was build by the desk manufacture and was shipped along with the desk as a package. i would deferentially recommend this product to a friend no doubt about it!!!!!!!!!!!! |
